Plot
'Goodbye Christopher Robin' tells the story of famous children's story writer A. A. Milne and his relationship with his son, Christopher Robin, whose games and iconic stuffed animals inspired the author to write one of the most well-known children's stories of all time: 'Winnie The Pooh'.
A. A. Milne's approach to the success of his books opposes his son's naive and infantile vision bringing us a unique point of view that showcases the magic of a little boy's games in contrast to adult's reality. Together with his mother Daphne and his nanny Olive, Christopher Robin will embark on a magical journey with his animal friends who will come to life before his very own eyes. The film not only highlights the success of the authors work, but also reveals the strain the family felt over their new-found fame.Cast

The Christopher Robin Milne's real life
The film's depiction of Christopher Robin Milne's relationship with his parents is fairly accurate. In real life, C.R. never actually forgave his father for exploiting him (perhaps inadvertantly) to sell books. Instead, he learned to accept what had happened, and lived with it until he died in 1996. His relationship with his mother was worse; she also disapproved of the woman C.R. eventually married. After A.A. Milne died in 1956, C.R. had almost no contact with his mother until she died 15 years later. C.R.'s only child, his daughter, Claire, was born with Cerebral Palsy. She died in 2012, at age 56.
