The moment has come. Now begins the awards season and both Marvel Studios, with Kevin Feige at its helm, and Walt Disney studios are campaigning strongly for the recognition of 'Black Panther'. Taking advantage of the fact that the Oscar's controversial category of 'Best Popular Film' has not yet been implemented, those responsible for the production have put into action a massive campaign to give 'Black Panther' the opportunity to be nominated in the next Oscar Awards.

According to the account ScreenRant, Disney has requested that 'Black Panther' be considered for nomination in all of the award categories, including Best Film. In the Best Director category, Ryan Coogler could be nominated, and in Best Actor, Chadwick Boseman, for his role as the Black Panther in the film. For his performance, Michael B. Jordan could be in with a chance for a golden statue for the category of Best Secondary Actor which, according to the aforementioned account, could be the category with the most chance of winning an Oscar, seeing as Killmonger is considered by many to be one of the best villains in the Marvel universe.

In the Eye of the Storm for the Popular Category

When the Academy announced earlier this year that it would include a new category in the Oscars for the best popular film, the was strong controversy, of which 'Black Panther' was one of the main causes, as many fans considered that the Academy was using this category as an "insulting consolation prize to give Black Panther an Oscar, out of fear of disrespecting a pop culture phenomenon". Shortly afterward, it was announced that this category would be revised and would not launch in this season of Oscars, as it still needed a greater evaluation from the Academy.
