The CCO of Netflix has expressed interest in working with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as they step back from the royal family - that is, if Disney doesn't swoop in there first.

Though the English crown has moved beyond the days of the outrage caused by restorations or the divorcing/beheading/dying of Henry VIII's six wives, that's not to say that the royal family is without its controversies, though nowadays most of it seems to revolve around the future of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Surprisingly, it seems as though cinephiles may be seeing a lot more of the young aristocratic couple in the coming years. Although the executive producer of 'The Crown', Suzanne Mackie, recently announced that the series would not cover the most recent events in the life of Queen Elizabeth II, essentially ruling out our dreams of a Prince Harry cameo, a few days later it was revealed that Meghan Markle has signed a contract with Disney as a voice actress.

Could Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have future careers at Disney or Netflix in store?
Now that the royal departure of the Duke and Duchess has been conformed, Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos has made it clear that both Markle and Prince Harry have a place at the platform's round table if they want it. "Who wouldn't be interested? Yes, sure", Sarandos said to Deadline at the Producer's Guild awards after being asked about whether the streaming service would consider working alongside the 'Suits' actress and her husband.

Though the media and entertainment industry has been mentioned in discussions surrounding the couple's near future, it is unlikely that we'll ever see the two of them playing themselves in some future series of 'The Crown'. Although the couple could potentially join the Netflix team after taking a step back from their royal duties, it appears that Disney has pulled ahead in the race to snap up the aristocrats, as seen at the premiere for the live-action version of 'The Lion King'. It was there that Markle joked with Jon Favreau about working together whilst Prince Harry sung his wife's praises as a voice actress to Disney's CEO.

Moving to Media

We already know that the actress has signed on to work the House of Mouse in exchange for a generous donation to the charity 'Elephants Without Borders'. Furthermore, as soon as the two cease using the Royal Highness titles, they will have to be economically independent and also return the £2.4 million that funded the reform of their residence to British taxpayers, so we'll have to wait and see what other media ventures the two have in store.
