Christmas films in cinemas now!

Daveena Kataria Monday 04 December 2017

Now it's December, we feel it's appropriate for us to start talking all things Christmas, and it wouldn't be very Movie'n'co of us if we didn't discuss the festive films coming to our cinemas this Christmas.

We've managed to compile a shortlist of the most festive films releasing this season. You can also check out the list of our favourite Christmas films.

'The Man Who Invented Christmas'

A film adaptation of the book of the same name, 'The Man Who Invented Christmas' takes an inventive look at the series of events which lead to the publication of one of the most infamous Christmas stories of all time, Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'. Dan Stevens will play Dickens.

'A Bad Mom's Christmas'

If we thought we'd seen it all in the 2016 success 'Bad Moms', we've got another thing coming. The stress of Christmas is only increased for the three mothers when their own moms decide to come and stay. Left with no other choice, Amy, Karla and Kiki stage a walk-out on Christmas. Just how long will it last?

'Daddy's Home 2'

Having finally put their feud to rest, the competition between Brad (Will Ferrell) and Dusty (Mark Wahlberg), seems like a thing of the past, so much so that they have decided to spend Christmas together. All seems well until their fathers announce they'll be visiting for the holidays. As the grandfathers cause trouble, the tension between their sons reignites to the extent that the festivities might be ruined. Will they make up in time for Christmas?

'The Star'

Prepare to see the Nativity story like you've never seen it before. Meet Bo, a lovable donkey who's heard all about Mary's situation and wants nothing more than to help. In a Nativity story told entirely through the perspective of the animals, witness how the donkey, the sheep and the camels all come together to ensure the safety of Mary and Joseph. If that's not enough to entice you to the cinemas, then the star-studded cast might; 'The Star' includes the voices of Oprah Winfrey and Zachary Levi among many others.
