The next 'X-Men' film, 'X-Men: Dark Phoenix', remains a mystery to fans of the mutant saga. Initially the premier was set for November of this year, but it was pushed back until 14th February 2019, due to the filming of some reshoots for at least two and half weeks in Montreal.
During the filming various photos of one of the scenes have been leaked, showing a face to face confrontation between the characters played by Sophie Turner and Jessica Chastain. Turner, who has recently finished shooting for the last season of 'Game of Thrones', is to play the part of Jean Grey. However, Chastain´s character continues to be unknown, although it has been confirmed that she will be playing the role of the film's villain.
In the leaked photos you can see Jessica Chastain grasping Turner in a chokehold in, what appears to be, a violent confrontation. Everything about this scene suggests that it belongs to the third section of the film, thus may be images from the final face-off, which, judging by the images, Chastain is winning.
The photos were originally leaked on Twitter but have since been removed from certain accounts, though they are available to view here:
According to ScreenRant, the rumors are that Chastain could be playing the role of the Queen of the Skulls, who approaches Jean Grey while disguised as a human, before revealing her true alien form. Either way, the thing which the publication was most impatient to see in this film, directed by Simon Kinberg, is the transformation of Turner's character into the Phoenix, after which the film is named.
On a roll
Jessica Castani, nominated for an Oscar for 'Zero Dark Thirty', appears to be one of the most coveted actresses in Hollywood at the moment. In addition to the X-Men reshoots, she can be found finishing the filming of the horror film 'It - Chapter 2', in which she plays the part of an adult Beverly Marsh, whom was played by Sophia Lillis as a child in the first installment of this series in 2017. Furthermore, she is waiting to beginning shoots for the film '355', the long awaited thriller in which she will be starring along side Oscar-winning actresses Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, and Lupita Nyong'o.
