It was just a matter of time. Since the release of 'Elite' on Netflix on the 5th October, it has become a phenomenon not only in Spain, but worldwide, becoming the most binge-watched series globally. With a success like this, how could the global streaming company pass up on the opportunity for a round two? Of course that was never a possibility.

Netflix has given the green light on the second season of 'Elite', which will once again be under the supervision of Zeta Audiovisual. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that it will feature eight new episodes, and that they will be coming to Netflix as soon as next year.

Elite

At the moment we do not know anything more about the episodes from Carlos Montero and Dario Madrona's series, but many possibilities were left open after the first, even if we do already know the identity of the murderer. In the absence of a statement from Netflix, we are waiting to know if all the protagonists will return, especially Maria Pedraza, who plays the role of Marina.

The 'Elite' Phenomenon

In only fifteen days 'Elite' has taken over all Netflix-related conversations. The actors have seen their followers increase by thousands on social media. They even have their own clothes line. And the public has not stopped asking for more, and for it to come as soon as possible. Only a few months ago Netflix announced the opening of a new production centre in Madrid, seeing how well other European series have done worldwide, such as the Spanish show 'Cable Girls' or the German 'Dark'. 'Elite' tops this list and everything points towards us staying in Las Encinas for a while longer.
