Following the success of the recent 'Peter Rabbit', Sony Pictures Animation have given the green light for a sequel. The film, based upon the books written by Beatrix Potter, only released back in mid-March, but it appears to have done well enough for Sony to justify a further installment.

 'Peter Rabbit'

Will Gluck ('Easy A') directed the first film and he'll be returning for the sequel. Not much else is known about the upcoming film aside from the fact that the production team are aiming for a February 2020 release.

News of the sequel hasn't come as a surprise given that 'Peter Rabbit' has earned 62% of positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. So far, the global takings for the film have just crept passed the $320 million mark, surpassing both 'Paddington' films which also mix live-action with animation.

Margot Robbie, Daisy Ridley and James Corden each lent their voices to 'Peter Rabbit' whilst Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne appear in the flesh.

Oops

Not long ago, an Australian cinema accidentally screened the trailer for 'Hereditary', the latest horror film by production company A24 (also responsible for 'The Witch' and 'It Comes at Night') just before 'Peter Rabbit' was due to screen.

As you can imagine the trailer traumatised the many young viewers present and as a result the cinema was forced to switch off the screen and provide everyone with free tickets as compensation. Here's to hoping the sequel will be less horrifying!
