Steven Spielberg's upcoming film, 'Ready Player One', set to release on 28th March 2018, promises to deliver a hell of a lot of surprises alongside links to some of our favourite and most well known cinema classics. Taking advantage of this, Warner Bros. have kicked off their marketing campaign for the production by objectifying the aforementioned links in the form of film posters.

The new posters for the film, headed by Tye Sheridan, pay homage to 'The Matrix', 'Blade Runner', 'The Goonies' and 'Beetlejuice', among many others. Unfortunately, the posters don't seem to have been officially released as of yet, but one lucky fan managed to spot them on one street in California.

Although the posters make reference to films dating back to the 80s and 90s, excluding that of 'Bullitt' from the 1960s, the film will also make reference to contemporary video-games, like 'Overwatch'. We're still not sure when Warner Bros. plan to make these posters public, but according to a few sources, it's possible they'll release them pretty soon, given that the release date isn't far off now.

The film we've been waiting for

We all love to look back on days gone by, and it's even better when some of the latest audiovisual productions carry out those throwbacks for us. Like 'Stranger Things', it seems as though 'Ready Player One' plans on surprising us with its various references and easter eggs.

'Ready Player One' was due to premiere back in December, but the date was pushed back when it was revealed the original premiere clashed with 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi'. The delay explains why Warner Bros. hadn't even begun on its marketing campaign until Comic Con San Diego 2017. We're still waiting on new promotional material for the upcoming film, so in the meantime, we'll leave you with the aforementioned posters.
