INFINITY TROLL

Marvel and Disney are not best pleased with the internet troll who bought the domain names for 'Avengers: Endgame', but Ryan Reynolds for one found it hilarious and even sent a thank you gift.

Whoever said that the biggest threat to the Avengers was Thanos has clearly never been on Twitter... Only hours after the release of the first long anticipated 'Avengers: Endgame' trailer, it was discovered that the URLs AvengersEndgame.com and AvengersEndgameMovie.com did not belong to this new Marvel film, but had in fact been highjacked to redirect users to the webpage for 'Once Upon a Deadpool'.

Ryan Reynolds Deadpool
The culprit behind this URL robbery came forward on Twitter, confessing to his crime: the user @AGuyInChair admitted that he had bought these domains and declared that he would only renounce them in exchange for two tickets to the 'Avengers: Endgame' premiere in Los Angeles. He did not reveal his true identity, but he claims that he has no links to either Marvel nor Deadpool, and that this is not a marketing strategy for the release of the latter.

The fan claims that the domain was registered on April 27th 2018, and thus he worked out what the title of the new film would be and manage to acquire the URLs in order to pull off his little trick. If that isn't the work of a criminal mastermind then I don't know what is...

Ryan Reynolds Says Thank You

While neither Marvel nor Disney have responded to the troll, Ryan Reynolds took matters into his own hands in order to thank the fan for trolling the Avengers with promotion for his own film; the 'Deadpool' star sent a shiny package containing headphones and a sample of his company's gin and tonic.

Not only was he showered with gifts, but when AGuyInChair tweeted an image on the parcel, he was also graced with a reply from Reynolds himself, declaring his admiration for the troll.

Most fans would be over the moon with this sort of special treatment from the Marvel superstar, but it seems that this Twitter user is still determined to worm his way into the 'Avengers' premiere, again offering to "trade it immediately for 2 tickets". It seems some people will never be satisfied. All that is left now is to see whether Marvel or Disney follow in Reynold's footsteps and come up with their own response...
