Josh Boone promised us a horror film, and from the new trailer, it appears as though he's succeeded in bringing us just that. There's no big battles or leather costumes waiting for us in the upcoming 'The New Mutants' film. The X-Men have well and truly crossed over to horror territory with this latest instalment. The new trailer took us somewhat by surprise, but nevertheless depicted.

'The New Mutants' introduces us to a whole new group of protagonists within the X-Men saga, who appear to have ended up in what appears to be a hospital. Alice Braga is the doctor in charge of the patients; "do you know what mutants are?", she asks them.

From what we can see in the trailer, the hospital isn't exactly welcoming (even though they filmed the scenes in a real abandoned hospital). In fact, it's more likely that the so-called hospital is actually a prison or experiment laboratory for the young mutants, who are yet unable to control their powers.

The main characters in 'The New Mutants' are Maisie Williams (Wolfsbane), Anya Taylor-Joy (Magik), Charlie Heaton (Cannonball), Henry Zaga (Sunspot) and Blu Hunt (Mirage). The film will hit UK cinemas on 13th April 2018. What do you think about the X-Men's sudden venture into this genre? 'Another Brick On The Wall', by Pink Floyd has never sounded so scary.
