More than 3 decades after 'Top Gun'... Welcome back Maverick! At last we have answers to rumors that a sequel to the mid-80s tape might be on the way. And is that since last year the producer of the original, Jerry Bruckheimer, shared a tweet more than encouraging, we had not heard anything. "I just came back from a weekend in New Orleans to see my old friend Tom Cruise and talk a bit about 'Top Gun 2'," said a Bruckheimer the leader of those air idols has won by thrashing, throwing the bomb live on the Australian television program Sunrise.

'Top Gun'

The moment is priceless because the host of the show raises the question as the finishing touch to her interview and, as strangely, it's the big one. And it's customary for journalists to take advantage of these types of quotes that are based around the promotion of an actor's next work, and often they're very cagey about future projects... But in this case Cruise visited the set of the morning show to talk about his next film, 'The Mummy', the film where he stars with Sofia Boutella, when suddenly he must have felt generous. And it is clear that the presenter asks about the sequel with only a hint of hope: "Before we leave, rumors about 'Top Gun 2', please tell me that it's true..." And boom!: "It's true." The hosts of the program freeze up and blink once, they hallucinate and they jump to ask more. When? "We're probably going to start shooting next year."

Thank you for this Australian program that quickly hung up the world exclusive labels, while Tom enjoyed the reaction, grinning from ear to ear. Taking into account the wave of nostalgia in which we are immersed, and that was talked several years of the possibility, with Cruise assuring that it would be "fun" and Bruckheimer making it clear that they were trying to square it, the news is not surprising, but at the moment... Great!

'The Mummy' and the Universal Monsters

Universal goes all in with its Dark Universe and has made it clear with the last signings that join the future projects of this production company that desperately seeks to have a "Marvel" among its ranks. The latest confirmations come from the hand of Spanish actor Javier Bardem and fashion director Bill Condon. The Iberian interpreter, who is immersed in the vortex 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge', joked that the size of his head would be ideal to be part of Frankenstein just days before the image that confirmed his signing!
