After leaving us somewhat disappointed back in February with the release of a teaser for upcoming title, 'Venom', Sony are back, and this time they've got our attention. The first full trailer for the film just released and there's a lot more to it than just Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock. As per the trailer, Venom isn't the only symbiont organism we'll get to see in action.

Following the original teaser, many fans were left wondering which direction the upcoming film could have been heading: there were no action scenes, nor views of Tom Hardy in Venom's all black get-up. As though that wasn't enough of an issue, others pondered how the film would manage to stand independently from Marvel's 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'. In the comics, Venom initially invades Peter Parker, but after being rejected the alien soon finds Eddie Brock, a reporter who blames Spider-Man for all of his misfortunes. Together Brock and Venom become one of Spider-Man's most noteworthy enemies.

To avoid any clashing with the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, it appears the Sony production will mainly focus on the origins of Brock and the symbiont. As shown in the new trailer, Brock is contacted by an organisation known as The Life Foundation, and upon his visit, discovers a series of symbiont organisms, one of which he becomes exposed to, transforming him into the infamous Venom.

As per the comics

Although the story isn't that well known, it is authentically based on one of the classic comic series, namely, 'Venom: Lethal Protector'. In the series, Brock is kidnapped by The Life Foundation and ordered to help them recollect 5 of Venom's children: Scream, Agony, Phage, Lasher & Riot.

Given that The Life Foundation has clearly made its transition to the big screen, it's likely the rest of the storyline will follow suit. 'Venom' is set for UK release on 5th October.
