Plot
Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes), a brilliant but reserved virologist, finds himself drawn into a complex and surprising relationship with a mysterious figure who seems to know too much about the origin of the virus... and about himself. What begins as a scientific quest turns into an emotional and moral enigma that will challenge his worldview and his own identity. As Kelson delves deeper into this connection, he uncovers secrets that could alter the course of what remains of civilization.
On the other side of the ravaged continent, Spike (Alfie Williams), a young man marked by loss and trauma, crosses paths with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O'Connell), a charismatic leader of an extremist faction. What seemed like an opportunity for protection quickly turns into a nightmare of manipulation, violence, and control. Trapped in a psychological game where obedience is rewarded with brutality disguised as order, Spike must find the courage to escape from a prison without walls.
In 'The Bone Temple', the true threat does not come from the bodies corrupted by the virus, but from human hearts hardened by fear, power, and hopelessness. A story of unexpected bonds, ethical dilemmas, and the thin line between humanity and barbarism. This is the sequel of '28 years later'.

Trivia
Jack O'Connell
Jack O'Connell said that this film is the "weird, deranged cousin" of the previous film.
Danny Boyle's style
Nia DaCosta said she did not try to copy Danny Boyle's aesthetic or style. "The thing that connects the two is that they're both bonkers, idiosyncratic and very artistically personal works," DaCosta explained also adding "my big pitch when I was talking to the producers, including Danny and screenwriter Alex Garland, before I came on was, 'I'm going to make this my own. I'm not going to try to make a Danny Boyle movie. That's impossible to make. He's so special. And it didn't really interest me".
