Cookie Policy

Full information about cookies

1. What are cookies?

Cookies (and equivalent technologies) are devices that store and retrieve information from users' equipment when they browse a website. They may be used, for example, to remember your preferences or to spare you from having to sign in every time you visit.

The purposes of the cookies used on www.movienco.co.uk, a site owned by Diego López García, are detailed below.

2. What do we use cookies for?

This site uses strictly necessary first-party cookies to ensure that the site works and to manage the consent you give in relation to cookies.

In addition, we integrate the following providers as the stable base of measurement, advertising and user services:

Purpose Provider Privacy policy Retention
Analytics and audience measurement: let us know how many visits we receive, where traffic comes from, the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, time spent on the site and which sections perform best. Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) Google cookies Up to 396 days
Google Tag Manager (Google Ireland Limited) Privacy policy Session
Advertising and monetisation: serve advertising, measure its performance and, with your consent, display personalised ads based on your interests. Google Ad Manager / DoubleClick (Google Ireland Limited) Privacy policy Up to 396 days
Refinery89 — header-bidding wrapper and ad-inventory management Privacy policy Up to 90 days
Google Funding Choices — consent management tool (CMP) Processor terms 13 months
Push notifications: deliver editorial alerts to the User's browser or device when they expressly opt in. OneSignal, Inc. Privacy policy Up to 730 days

In addition, through Google Ad Manager, the Refinery89 header-bidding wrapper and Google Funding Choices —our consent management platform (CMP)— third-party vendors from the IAB Global Vendor List (TCF v2.2) (SSPs, DSPs, measurement platforms and demand partners) may take part in the delivery and measurement of programmatic advertising, provided you have given consent. The full and up-to-date list of vendors, their purposes and the links to their policies are available in the cookie-management tool itself, where you can accept, reject or adjust your preferences at any time.

If you agree to the linking of devices on your network, the third parties listed above may associate the information obtained from your device with data from other devices on the same network for which you have also consented to the use of cookies. This gives them a more complete view of usage for the analytics purposes described and, if you have accepted at least one of these purposes, allows them to align the personalised advertising shown across your different devices.

3. How to disable or refuse cookies

You can choose which cookies are used on this site from the settings panel available here. This does not affect the cookies used to keep the site running.

You can also set your browser to block cookies. These are the instructions provided by some of the main browsers:

Some cookies also store your consent preferences, so if you set the browser to reject them your choices may not be remembered.

The providers we use directly also offer their own tools to refuse or limit cookies:

For other IAB TCF v2.2 vendors that may operate through Google Funding Choices and Google Ad Manager, opt-out is handled from the cookie-management tool. You can also use the industry-wide tools Your Online Choices (EDAA) and YourAdChoices (DAA) to manage behavioural-advertising opt-outs across publishers.

4. Data-protection information

This section provides additional information on the processing of personal data that complements the information given in the rest of this policy.

4.1. Controller

For postal contact, please see the address published in the Legal information page.

4.2. Legal basis

The consent you give to the use of cookies is the legal basis for the personal-data processing carried out through them. You can withdraw this consent as described in section 3.

4.3. Categories of data

The following categories of data are processed through cookies:

  • For analytics: user identifier where the user is signed in, URLs visited, browser and device information.
  • For behavioural advertising: URLs visited, browser and device information, IP address (replaced by an advertising identifier, e.g. 172.16.4.205 stored as ABC).
  • For cross-device linking: user identifier.

4.4. Profiling

If you accept behavioural-advertising cookies, a profile is created in order to show you personalised advertising as described in section 2. The categories of data used for profiling are listed in section 4.3.

For example, if you browse car-related websites you may be added to an "interested in cars" profile and be shown related advertising. If you visit sport sections, you may be added to an "interested in sport" profile and be shown advertising accordingly.

4.5. Recipients

If you accept the use of cookies, the entities identified in section 2 will process the data collected through them for the purposes set out in that section.

For behavioural-advertising cookies, several parties take part in the chain from collecting your information through cookies to displaying a personalised ad: advertisers, media agencies, ad networks and intermediaries in programmatic advertising (SSPs, DSPs and exchanges) that contribute technology to that purpose. Further information is available in the Guidance on the use of cookies published by the Spanish Data Protection Agency.

4.6. International transfers

The publisher does not itself carry out transfers to third countries. Regarding the third parties listed in section 2, you can consult their respective policies for details of any transfers they make.

4.7. Exercising your rights

Where applicable, you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, data portability and withdrawal of consent by contacting the address shown in section 4.1.

If you believe your rights have been infringed, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency via its online form. If you are based in the United Kingdom, you may also raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
