The inspiration
To the director Marc Foster, the inspiration for this new film came to him in one of the rarest places: the shower. When the soap fell on his face and clouded his eyes, he realized he had a visual pattern.
Preparation
To play a blind woman in her most recent film, Blake Lively did not take any shortcuts. The 30-year-old actress learned to use a cane, used opaque contact lenses off camera to better understand her character and learned how to navigate the main set without seeing.
World premiere
Premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017.
