Barbarian

American director Zach Cregger's first film, 'Barbarian' had its premiere at San Diego Comic-Con. Initial idea for film was inspired by one of the chapters in the self-help book 'The Gift of Fear: Survival Signals That Protect Us from Violence', by Gavin de Becker. Of course, it does not adapt the book, but it served as inspiration to create an original story.

Tess Marshall (Georgina Campbell) is a woman in her thirties who travels to Detroit for a job interview with a top documentary filmmaker. Since she is only staying for a few days, she decides to rent a house through Airbnb. The woman arrives late at night at home and finds an unexpected surprise, apparently the house was also rented by Keith Toshko (Bill Skarsgård), a young man who is also going to stay in Detroit for a few days for work. Despite her intuition telling her to run away, Tess has nowhere to spend the night and agrees to sleep one night in the house.

Far from being a horrible experience, Tess and Keith hit it off and become friends. However, what seemed like a strange pleasant coincidence turns into something much more terrifying and creepy when they both discover that they are not the only occupants of the house.
