Dangerous Animals

'Dangerous Animals' is a co-production of horror between Australia and the United States that combines the relentless ferocity of nature with the most twisted evil of humanity. The story revolves around a serial killer obsessed with sharks, who has developed a macabre method to attract them, using his human victims as bait in a ritual as cruel as it is strange.

Directed by Sean Byrne, the film follows Zephyr, played by Hassie Harrison, an adventurous, intelligent, and free-spirited surfer who travels the Australian coast in search of perfect waves and new experiences. However, her journey takes a dark turn when she unknowingly encounters Bruce Tucker (portrayed by Jai Courtney), a ruthless serial killer who operates under the guise of a marine guide and has turned the waters into his hunting ground.

Tucker kidnaps Zephyr and holds her on his boat, an isolated vessel at sea, intending to make her the centerpiece of his twisted ceremony, launching her alive into the ocean to serve as food for the sharks he himself attracts through bloody preparations. The young woman, trapped in a confined space and surrounded by an endless horizon of water, is forced to stay calm, analyze every move of her captor, and seize any opportunity to escape.

Written by Nick Lepard, 'Dangerous Animals' not only fits into the horror genre but also incorporates elements of psychological horror, leading the viewer to question what is more terrifying, a natural predator or the mind of a man capable of imitating its cold-blooded killing.

With a pace that alternates between moments of claustrophobic suspense and intense sequences in open water, the film promises to keep the audience on the edge of their seats until the very last second, in a duel of wills where survival is the only goal.
