Plot
'Historias del buen valle' ('Good Valley Stories' ) is a feature-length documentary written and directed by José Luis Guerín. Guerín portrays an undefined landscape, within a neighbourhood on the outskirts, halfway between the rural and urban worlds. Here, the oldest houses, built by migrants from all over Spain in the post-war period, coexist alongside new blocks of flats, the homes of the “commuter town” with its new private migrants. This forms the so-called global village, full of different imaginaries, different social groups with conflicts of all kinds: generational, urban, identity and ecological.
'Good Valley Stories' offers a humanistic, calm view of our current world, as described by its team. Guerín remains true to his style as an innate landscape artist, which we have already seen in other works such as “No hay camino” and “Guest”. Guerín has also made fiction films, among which we can highlight “La academia de las musas” and “En la ciudad de Sylvia”.
This Spanish-French co-production is backed by companies such as Los Ilusos Films, Perspective Films and 3Cat. Wanda Films is in charge of distribution.
'Good Valley Stories' has received flattering reviews and has had a successful run at various festivals. It will hit the big screen on 13 February 2026.
