Plot

'Grow' is a British family comedy directed by John McPhail with a screenplay by Nick Guthe, Christos N. Gage, Ruth Fletcher Gage, Mark Huckerby, and Nick Ostler. It is a production of Sky Studios that debuts at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in August 2025. In the United States, it hits theaters starting October 17.

We are situated in the self-proclaimed Pumpkin Capital where farmer Dinah Little resides, who begins to take care of her niece Charlie, who has lived most of her life in an orphanage. Charlie loves plants and feels a special connection to them. So much so that she decides to enter the giant pumpkin contest in the town, hoping that a victory will bring her closer to finding her missing mother.

As the contest approaches, Charlie begins to soften her grumpy aunt's heart to help her grow the pumpkin. Together they will have to fight against a plethora of competitors who will use any tactics to win. In the end, the contest becomes a pretext to explore family connections and the feeling of belonging to a community.

'Grow' features Golda Rosheuvel and Priya-Rose Brookwell as the lead duo, with a cast that also includes, among others, Nick Frost, Jeremy Swift, Joe Wilkinson, and Alan Carr. The film has been shot in Scotland.
