Plot
Jacqueline is 85 years old and has a life that overflows the margins of the conventional. She was an acrobatic pilot when few women could even imagine it, an advertising screenwriter, an amateur painter, and an tireless traveler who explored the world alone at a time when doing so was an exception. True to that free and coherent spirit, Jacqueline faces the end of her life with the same determination with which she lived each stage. When she decides to request assisted death, she does so not from fear or despair, but from lucidity, serenity, and the deep conviction that death can also be a conscious and dignified choice.
Rosalía, her caregiver and actress, becomes her closest companion during this delicate and transformative process. From a relationship based on trust, listening, and affection, Rosalía proposes to Jacqueline to film the journey towards that final decision, not as a morbid act, but as a tool to understand, share, and give meaning to the experience. Together they embark on an intimate and honest journey that puts into words and images the doubts, fears, memories, and certainties surrounding the act of saying goodbye to life.
The documentary is built from proximity and respect, accompanying Jacqueline's decision step by step until its conclusion. Through deep conversations and moments of silence, the film opens a space for reflection on autonomy, the right to decide, and how each person wishes to live —and die—. With a clear pedagogical and human intention, the work aims to serve as a guide and support for others who wish to face the end of their life with dignity, awareness, and freedom.
