La Chana

Antonia Santiago Amador, better known as La Chana is a talented and self-taught Gypsy dancer who became one of the most important stars in flamenco world between the 60's and 70's. She was innovative, strong and persistent and when she was at the peak of her career she disapeared from the scene. 'La Chana' is the first movie of the croatian director Lucija Stojevic and this documentary show La Chana's innovative style of dance,her particular use of rhythm and how she returns to the stage to perform again after a 30-year break. While we get to know better the artist along the way she reveals the secret behind her disappearance. Now she is 67 years old and she has a peaceful live in Catalonia and along the documentary crystallizes the inevitable clashes between her life's extremes and contradictions.
