La isla del viento

'La isla del viento' show the life of the famous Spanish writer and philosopher Miguel de Unamuno, who suffered two exiles. In the film the two cities where he spent most time appear: Fuerteventura, the island where he lived his exile during the dictatorship of Primo de Ribera, and Salamanca. In that town of Castilla y León, he worked as rector of the University. He lost this job when he argued with the militar Millán Astray with the iconic sentence "you will win but you will not convince". After this episode Unamuno had to live recruited in his home until his death, two months after.

'La isla del viento' is the first movie of Manuel Menchón, who is released 80 years after the death of the lead character.
