A true story
Screenwriter Manuel Gómez Pereira is a professor at Pompeu Fabra University. One day he asked his students to record a video-minute about something that caught their attention. Eric Berman, one of them, showed him the video of "moms" in the dance school in which he himself worked. Pereira was interested in their history and their vitality, so it was to Badalona to meet those "mamis". That was the germ of the movie. One of the real "mamis", Maribel del Pino, is the founder of the Tribu Urbana Center school in Badalona and has become the choreographer of the film and even have a role in it.
