Plot
How many times have you called to get a breakdown fixed and found a woman when you opened the door? Surely, very few. Irantzu Varela and Andrea Momoitio, two transgressive and committed journalists, decide to break that routine and turn a century-old bridal dress atelier into the first feminist cultural center in the city: La Sinsorga. Their goal is ambitious: to carry out the entire project with women only, while also generating a database that highlights female professionals in a sector historically dominated by men.
Five workers will be responsible for reconstructing this ancient symbol of romantic love, a space that for decades represented traditions and expectations about women, but now transforms into a place of empowerment, creativity, and experimentation. Over the course of a year, we will follow the process of the work, where physical effort and construction techniques intertwine with personal stories, emotions, and bonds that emerge among the protagonists.
The narrative blends customs and a performative universe, showing how the fears, desires, and identities of each woman are reflected in every corner of the building. La Sinsorga thus becomes a laboratory of experiences where the physical transformation of the space dialogues with the social and symbolic transformation of the role of women in construction, culture, and history. A project that challenges norms, celebrates sisterhood, and demonstrates that collective creation can open new doors, both literally and metaphorically, to a more inclusive and feminist future.
