Make Me Up

In 'Make Me Up', the multimedia artist Rachel Maclean has created a both seductive and dangerous world; a place where surveillance, violence and submission have been normalized as a part of everyday life. She breaks this contradictions and does not doubt in overpassing the edges- This dark movie turns a satirical glance in contradictory pressures that women face everyday. It examines how television and social media may be funny places, but also places that encourage women to keep on beauty ideals. Siri wakes up in a nightmare-house made out of candy. Despite the atrezzo, the place is a real hell for all the inmates in there, people that will have to fight to each other to survive in a place with a 24/7 surveillance system.
