Mob Land

'Mob Land' is a Canadian-American thriller written and directed by Nicholas Maggio in his directorial debut. The film, produced by 308 Entertainment and distributed by Saban Films, stars Shiloh Fernandez and John Travolta, among others. With a very low budget, the entire film was shot in just 11 days. 'Mob Land' had a very limited release in theaters before making the jump to streaming platforms.

The action takes place in a small southern town in the United States plagued by addiction, where the local sheriff struggles to maintain peace. Burdened by debt, Shelby Connors and his brother-in-law Trey decide to rob a fraudulent clinic that distributed narcotics in the area.

However, the heist does not go as planned, and they end up killing two people in the process. These events alert the dangerous mafia from New Orleans, who seek revenge on Shelby and Trey, determined to eliminate not only them but also their entire family, including Shelby's wife and daughter. Now, the two will try to escape and protect their family while the local sheriff also tightens the noose around them.

In addition to Fernandez and Travolta, the latter playing Sheriff Davis, the film's cast includes Kevin Dillon as Trey, Stephen Dorff as Clayton Minor, a member of the New Orleans mafia, while Ashley Benson plays Caroline Connors, Shelby's wife. The film received mixed reviews.
