The film opened the Berlin Film Festival and closed the Seminci of Valladolid.
The film was shot mostly in a studio with the cast and crewr. Juliette Binoche was admitted suffocating heat during filming because of the lights in the studio and the clothes on their backs.
The film is inspired by real people and was shot in and around Finse (Norway), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Tenerife (Spain).
It has been a great European production of 6.3 million euros (co-production between Spain (70%), France (20%) and Bulgaria (10%)).
