Plot
‘'Noise'’ is a suspense and horror film that marks the debut of South Korean director Kim Soojin as a feature film creator.
Juyoung is a young woman with hearing problems. Inside her, there is a wound that keeps her stuck in the past, bleeding day after day. One day she moves with her sister to a new apartment, hoping to start fresh. To erase the past and begin anew.
However, after settling in, her sister disappears without a trace. Juyoung is confused and tries to understand what has happened. In the midst of the confusion, she starts to perceive a noise. However, this noise does not seem to come from this world.
A buzzing that comes from the walls, a whisper, a persistent and chilling sound. Little by little, that sound gains presence in the young woman's life. She hears it in her head, in the hallways, behind the doors, and even in the silence itself.
Vulnerable due to the combination of her deafness and fear, she enters a world where reality and the imaginary blur. A play of acoustic effects becomes her worst enemy. The silence, familiar to her, becomes both her refuge and her greatest threat.
Juyoung finds herself divided. On one hand, she must stay strong to find her sister. On the other, she must fight against herself to regain control of her mind.
In this horror experience, it is not the noise that scares, but the silence.
