Of Unwanted Things and People

'The Mysterious Tales of the Apple Tree' tells the story of three children: Tom, four years old, Susan, eight, and Derek, ten. Together, they visit their grandfather for the first time after losing their beloved grandmother. In this reunion, they will face a distant grandfather and a house that is too quiet. Susan, the middle child, takes up her grandmother's mantle and assumes the role of storyteller, creating tales that she shares with the others to bring joy back to the house. Susan tells three stories in the style of her family's storytelling tradition: a mysterious cat, a monster that isn't as scary as one might think, and a daring flying man. As the children's family delves into Susan's tales, they discover the values of courage, kindness, and the will to find light in the darkest moments of life. 

'Of Unwanted Things and People' is a Czech-origin film, featuring a stop-motion animation style and a touching and tender treatment of the story. David Súkup, Patrik Pašš, Leon Vidmar, and Jean-Claude Rozec are the directors of the feature film, scripted by Marek Král, Petr Krajíček, Patrik Pašš, Jerneja Kaja Balog, Maja Križnik, and Blandine Jet. They draw inspiration from the original story by Arnost Goldflam. 

The film will hit theaters on December 12, with Pack Mágic as the distributor.
