Australian truck driver Jack Willis has found huge success as a romantic novelist, but in order to avoid embarrassment he has assumed the name of his best friend Ruby Vale as a pen-name. When a big-city publisher arrives to sign 'Ruby' up in a megabucks deal, Jack and Ruby are forced to keep secret the true identity of the author, but as time passes, their deception grows more and more difficult to maintain.
