When Fernando Ruiz Vergara passed away, he left behind dozens of documents and films that he never managed to make in his lifetime. The Andalusian director only successfully completed one film, 'Rocío', the only film censored during the democratic era in Spain. This heartbreaking and fascinating film, which was never aired, led the filmmaker to decide to move to Portugal.

Since his departure, all his projects remained in a limbo where they felt latent, and where imagination and desire continued to be felt. In this film, titled 'Caja de resistencia', the directors of the works, Alejandro Alvarado and Concha Barquero, decide to play and experiment with all those ideas that the filmmaker was forced to abandon, bringing these stories back as a symbol of struggle, resistance, and resilience.

Alejandro Alvarado and Concha Barquero also serve as screenwriters in this documentary, where they rescue archival footage of Fernando Ruiz Vergara himself. The musical aspect is handled by Paloma Peñarrubia, and the cinematography is by Raquel Fernández Nuñez.
