Runt

Annie Shearer (Lily LaTorre) peacefully lives in Upson Downs, a rural town located in Australia. One day she meets Runt, a black stray dog who quickly becomes her friend. They help anyone in need together, but problems arise when they ask for help: the Shearer family is facing bankruptcy, and to make things worse, a greedy local landowner wants to evict them.

Fortunately for Annie, a casting call opens for a dog competition in London. The prize of two hundred fifty thousand dollars could save her family from eviction. The protagonist and Runt travel to the British capital to compete and give their best. However, Annie's canine friend never obeys her commands in front of larger crowds, so he must learn to work as a team for the sake of their future and to save the family farm.

'Runt' is an Australian film directed by filmmaker John Sheedy. The movie is written by Craig Silvey, who writes the script based on the successful novel by Marion Dane Bauer. Jai Courtney, Celeste Barber, Joel Jackson, Jack Thompson, Matt Day, Sarah Roberts, Deborah Mailman and Tom Budge complete the cast, among other names. The title is produced by Studio Canal, but Vértice 360 will be responsible for distributing it in Spain. Thus, the two friends, Annie and Runt, will arrive in theaters on April 30.
