Speaking tongues

The director Kyzza Terrazas ('El lenguaje de los machetes', 2011), debuts in the documentary with 'Somos lengua' an urban and faithful portrait of art and the way of life behind the wave of rap and hip-hop singers of the new Mexican artistic panorama.

In several cities of Mexico, many youngsters have given their lives to rap. They live for hip-hop and get energy from it. Who are the rappers in Mexico? What do they find in this culture that society doesn't offer? How is it that their strong relationship with words has transformed them and helps them survive in a country with no opportunities?
