Easter eggs
There are a few Easter eggs referencing previous Julia Donaldson stories: The Highway Rat, and The Gruffalo. The bakery that's seen in the background, "Buns and Biscuits", is a reference to something the Highway Rat says when he holds up the squirrel. There's a picture of cupcakes in a picture behind Pats chair. These are the same cupcake that the Highway Rat takes off the duck. The mouse toy is based on the mouse from the Gruffalo. Prunella has a Gruffalo keyring.
Hidden gruffalo
Axel Scheffler has hidden a Gruffalo in most of his works with Julia Donaldson, which have been mirrored in the adaptations. In this, the Gruffalo can be seen as a keyring on Prunella's car keys (this differs from the book, where a child holds a Gruffalo teddy).
