The King

'The King' is a documentary that aims to portray the American dream and the situation of the United States through a tour of the world of music. Following a roadtrip movie structure, 'The King' takes us on a journey across US geography aboard Elvis Presley's 1963 Rolls Royce 40 years after the artist's death, proposing to explore how a country boy lost his authenticity and became king while his country lost its democracy and became an empire. Directed and written by the director and documentary maker Eugene Jarecki ('The House I Live In', 'Why We Fight, ...), 'The King' brings his proposal to the screen also featuring recognized faces such as the actors Alec Baldwin, Ethan Hawke or the singer Lana del Rey.
