Like the previous film, The Trip, Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan improvised their scenes together.
Steve's on screen son was wearing a "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock" diagram T-shirt, a "Big Bang Theory" merchandise.
Rob and Steve play the Alanis Morrissette album Jagged Little Pill as they drive to the various restaurants in the show. This led to the album re-entering the UK charts at No.40 selling just under 2000 copies in the week.
