Upgraded

'Upgraded' is a U.S. romantic comedy directed by Carlson Young with a screenplay by Christine Lenig, Justin Matthews, and Luke Spencer Roberts. It is a modern adaptation of the Cinderella story, produced by Gulfstream Pictures and Amazon MGM Studios for the streaming platform Prime Video, which will premiere it worldwide on February 9, 2024.

Ana is an intern who starts working at an auction house in New York, where she lives with her sister and her sister's boyfriend due to the impossibility of renting her own apartment. After impressing her demanding boss, she receives an invitation to travel with her to London as an assistant.

On the way, she manages to upgrade to first class on the plane, where she meets William, the son of Catherine, a wealthy British celebrity. To impress him, she tells him that she is the director of the art gallery where she works as an intern. Once in London, things get complicated when Catherine asks her to organize her own art auction...

'Upgraded' stars Camila Mendes, Archie Renaux, Marisa Tomei, Lena Olin, and Anthony Head in the main roles. The film was shot in London and features a soundtrack with up to eight songs composed by Rudy Mancuso, Mendes' partner at that time. The film generally receives positive reviews, highlighting that it provides light, unpretentious entertainment.
