Vieja Loca

Laura (Agustina Liendo) desperately calls her ex-partner, Pedro (Daniel Hendler), on a gloomy stormy night after having an odd conversation with her senile mother and being unable to locate her usual caregiver. Laura asks Pedro to take care of her mother for one single night.

The Spanish actress Carmen Maura plays Alicia, this sick mother who will propose a sadistic game to her ex-son-in-law Pedro from which he will not be able to escape.

With this film as a nightmare of suspense and a horror fable, Argentine director and screenwriter Martín Mauregui makes his big screen debut with the support of J. A. Bayona, Belén Atienza, Ramón Campos, and Gabriela Carcova as producers. The feature film addresses violence and how it is transmitted from generation to generation in a suffocating manner and in a horror key.

Mauregui has participated in other projects of varying scope. For example, in the scripts of films like 'El amor (primera parte)' (2005), 'Leonera' (2008), and 'Argentina 1985' (2022), the latter of which has received significant international recognition.

This is a Spain-Argentina-U.S. co-production with the production companies Películas La Trini, Primo Content, Mr Field and Friends, Bambú Producciones, and La Unión De Los Ríos, in addition to the participation of Amazon España.
