Teen dramas have always been a huge success on television, even if they're somewhat repetitive, they're consistently well received. 'Riverdale' fits perfectly into such a category, but it's also much more than that. The series takes place in a David Lynch -esque city, and deals with issues as serious as feminism, masculinity, and mental illnesses. On the topic of serious issues, actress Camila Mendes who plays Veronica Lodge on the show, took to Instagram this week to share her experience of suffering with an eating disorder.

The project aims at funding treatment for those suffering from eating disorders. Mendes will also be attending a 'Fighting for 500' gala, at which she hopes to help raise money for the cause.

Betty Cooper

Lili Reinhart, the actress who plays Betty Cooper on 'Riverdale', also opened up this week in light of the barrage of accusations of sexual abuse against director Harvey Weinstein. The allegations began shortly after The New York Times released an article on the director, which has since caused many actresses to speak up about the sexual abuse they have suffered in Hollywood at the hands of Weinstein and others.

Reinhart shared a post via her personal Tumblr account, telling of how as a young actress, a male co-star attempted to take advantage of her. The actress went on to say how after the incident, he made her feel as though the whole situation was her fault. "I remember feeling like this was a scene right out of a horror movie", she commented.
