Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' is one of the most successful spin-offs of the legendary 'Law & Order' franchise. The series was created and produced by Dick Wolf and has been airing on NBC since its premiere in 1999. 

It is one of the longest-running live-action series in television history, surpassing twenty-five seasons, with hundreds of episodes aired and has a virtually uninterrupted continuity.

The fiction follows the cases assigned to the detectives of the New York City Police Department's Special Victims Unit, a specialized unit investigating particularly sensitive crimes such as sexual assaults, abuse, domestic violence, or crimes against minors. 

It stands out for its direct and realistic approach, as it shows both the police work and the complex emotional and legal consequences of these types of cases.

The main protagonists responsible for solving these sexual crimes are detectives Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), whose professional and personal relationship became one of the fundamental pillars of the series.

Throughout the fiction, one can see how the New York police try to solve these crimes against individuals who have suffered harassment or rape, not always in the most orthodox manner, as on several occasions the agents involve their emotions and intertwine their feelings with the cases.
