Many cultural aspects of 1950s and 1960s Americana are alluded to, but in alternate forms. For example, in one episode, a TV is showing a Nazi-ized version of Dragnet (1951).

On 24 November 2015, shortly after a full series of episodes became available via Amazon streaming video, advertising posters in the New York City subway system caused an outcry because of their display of the Nazi reichsadler. The governor of New York himself called for the removal of the posters, which was quickly done.
