Fourth feature film directed by Canadian filmmaker Sébastien Pilote. Based on the novel with the same title,written by famous novel by French author Louis Hémon, published in 1913. It was scheduled to be released for Christmas 2020, its entire campaign had to be delayed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It had its world premiere at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival, best hair award at the 10th edition of the Canadian Screen Awards and it was shown at the 2021 BCN Film Fest.

Maria Chapdelaine (Sara Montpetit) is a 16-year-old girl who lives with her family on the banks of the Péribonka River, in rural Quebec at the beginning of the 20th century. As true pioneers, the Chapdelaines work day and night. In a home where not even physical exhaustion can dampen the warmth of family life, Maria, strong and full of hope, finds herself facing a profound romantic dilemma that will mark her future as a woman. Located on Lake Saint-Jean, the Chapdelaines work tirelessly, to the point of reaching the limits of the forest. Maria, being just a teenager, sees how her world changes, how reality leads her to enter the world of adults and how she will be forced to decide about her future as a woman.
