Plot

'Bagdad Cafe' is a german comedy premiered in 1987. It was directed by Percy Adlon and starred by Marianne Sägebrecht, Jack Palance, Christine Kauffman and CCH Pounder.

The movie takes place on an old, dirty motel lost in the middle of the Mojave desert called Bagdad Cafe. Jasmin (Sägebrecht), is a German turist on a road trip with her husband through the desert. After a fight with her husband, she storms out the car leaving him for good. Jasmin ends up taking shelter on the Bagdad Cafe where she meets Brenda, the owner, becoming friends with her and accepting a vacant job in there. The motel, that receives all kind of odd, eccentric visitors, will become a popular place to go thanks to Jasmin.
