Black Is Beltza II: Ainhoa

Sequel to the animated film for adults 'Black Is Beltza', again directed by Fermín Muguruza and based on the filmmaker's own comics. Its official presentation was at the 70th edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival. The first installment was nominated for the Gaudí Award for best animated film.

Ainhoa ??was born by a miracle in La Paz (Bolivia) after the death of her mother Amanda in an alleged vigilante attack. She grew up in Cuba and in 1988, at the age of 21, she began an initiatory journey with the Spanish Basque Country as the first destination to discover the land of her father Manex, the protagonist of 'Black Is Beltza'. In the middle of the repressive conflict, she meets Josune, a committed journalist, and her gang of friends.

When Josune's boyfriend dies of a heroin overdose, she decides to accompany Ainhoa ??on her journey, which continues through Lebanon, Afghanistan and the city of Marseille. These are the last years of the Cold War and both will enter the dark world of drug trafficking networks and their close ties to political plots.

Co-production between Spain and Argentina. This second installment with the main production of Talka Records & Films, Muguruza is again accompanied in writing the script by Harkaitz Cano and Isa Campo. The animation has Lotura Films and Draftoon Animation Studios, which already participated in the first film, and on this occasion it acts as co-producer together with Lagarto Films. Imanol Zinkunegi is the animation director and Beñat Beitia repeats as art director together with Marina Omedes and Karin de Kroo from the Nueveojos studio. Among the outstanding cast of interpreters who have contributed their voices are Ariadna Gil, Antonio de la Torre, Yashmine Kris, Itziar Ituño, Darko Peric, Gorka Otxoa, Jon Plazaola, Maria Cruickshank and Ander Lipus.
