Born a King

In 1919, the King of Arabia sends his son, the 14-year-old prince Faisal (Abdullah Ali), to London to take part in a highly important diplomatic mission regarding the formation of his nation. Far from the familiar deserts of his home country, the young prince must to negotiate with great figures such as Winston Churchill (Celyn Jones) and Lord Curzon (Kenneth Cranham) to secure the future of his country. During his stay, Faisal strikes up a friendship with Princess Mary (Hermione Corfield), who helps him navigate through the complex waters of English politics until he can hold his own for the benefit of his father and kingdom.

'Born a King' is based on the real story of the young Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The movie is directed by the Spanish filmmaker Agustí Villaronga ('Black Bread', 'The King of Havana', 'Uncertain Glory'). The script is the second feature-length film written by Henry Fitzherbert after 'Slaughterhouse Rulez'.

The film marks the debut of Abdullah Ali.
