Cleft Lip

Set in a British reality not very far from ours, Erik Knudsen adapts the Oedipus Rex of Sophocles. It gives a new twist to the classic story by mixing the current questions about the ethics of fertility treatment and the trade of both sperm and donor eggs. The plot revolves around a couple, formed by Campbell and Jazz who try to have a child of their own. They end up heading to a spiral of frightening conclusions while discovering the truth of their passionate relationship. Everything happens in the midst of a very hectic family environment that involves a a lot of dark secrets.

Directed and written by Erik Knudsen, 'Cleft Lip' features the performances of Miranda Benjamin, Julie Burrow, Johnny Bryom and Alison Carlin among others.
