Commander Arian

Director Alba Sotorra brings us a story of fight and freedom with women as the center of this documentary. In the middle of the war in Syria, Sotorra will follow commander Arian, a woman who's seen from a young age the devastation that war causes, specially in women, and who's in charge of the Women Protection Units (YPJ), a grupo formed by women of the Kurdish resistance. With the goal of achieving real freedom for the women of the future, Arian will lead her troops in the war against ISIS, while Sotorra captures every moment of her fight and the adversities that she and the rest of the women will face once they're at the front line.
