Adaptation of Kevin Kwan's bestseller about three wealthy Chinese families preparing for the wedding of the year. The story follows Rachel Chu (Constance Wu), a Chinese-born Chinese economics teacher who travels to her boyfriend Nick's (Henry Golding) hometown of Singapore for her best friend's wedding. It is there that Rachel discovers that Nick belongs to one of the richest families in Asia and that all the upper class women are incredibly jealous of her. The young woman will have to face all of them and show the family of her beloved that she is also worthy of being with him.
