The release
Sony Pictures and Blumhouse have set a Feb. 28, 2020 release date for the film.
Similarities with 'Westworld' and 'The Cabin in the Woods'.
The film is described as being a tonal mix of Westworld meets The Cabin in the Woods, centering on a group of contest winners who arrive at an island hotel to live out their dreams, only to find themselves trapped in nightmare scenarios.
The cast
In October 2018, Michael Peña, Jimmy O. Yang, Dave Bautista and Lucy Hale joined the cast. In November 2018, during an interview, Wadlow disclosed that Maggie Q, Portia Doubleday and Ryan Hansen had joined the cast, as well as suggesting Bautista may no longer be able to appear in the film.
The series
It was announced in July 2018 that a reimagining of the television series Fantasy Island was being developed at Blumhouse Productions and Sony Pictures.
Brax's nickname
Brax's nickname Tattoo is a reference to Hervé Villechaize's character in the TV show Fantasy Island, also named Tattoo.

Principal photography on the film began in January 2019 in Fiji.
