Father & soldier

Set in a Senegalese colony in 1917, Bakari is a father who goes to enlist in the French army to accompany and protect his seventeen-year-old son who was recruited by the French army against what he wanted. With World War I in full swing, father and son must fight for a country that neither of them even wants to know. Bakary will join this war in search of the sanity that his son lost at some point.

'Father and Soldier' is a success throughout France. Now it's his turn to premiere worldwide. This film opened the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.

César Omar Sy, known worldwide for his participation in 'Lupin', is in charge of starring in this film and guiding the viewer and history through this moving and exciting journey. 'Father and Soldier' ??is a film that explores the limits of family ties, blood relations and war heroes who die forgotten on the battlefield.

'Father and Soldier' ??is directed by director Mathieu Vadepied in what will be his third self-directed feature film. The film is co-scripted by Mathieu Vadepied himself along with Oliver Demangel, screenwriter for films like 'Atlantics', 'Les invisibles', 'November' or 'Republique: The Interactive'
